The Dr. Garcia Public Library is the newest addition to the Corpus Christi Public Libraries. It is a joint project with the Corpus Christi Independent School District and is located on the Kaffie Middle School campus.

Originally established in 1966, this branch underwent a year-long renovation and re-opened in the fall of 2012 with a new name, Ben F. McDonald Public Library, and a new children’s room, Velia and Joe De Leon Children’s Library.

The Owen R. Hopkins Public Library serves a growing community of over 25,000 population. They work closely with the two school districts; Calallan ISD and Tuloso-Midway ISD as well as serving Robstown and other communities in the northwest area of the county and in San Patricio County. Owen R. Hopkins Public Library reopened in October 2007 after a year long renovation.
